This page is designed to aim at promoting the use of legal and sustainable timber in construction, architecture and interior of consumers, especially young designers and architects. The page has 2 key parts consisting of 1. Stop illegal logging; 2. Exhibition of wood works.
1. Stop illegal logging
Let’s make Vietnam a place that can meet the increasing needs of the Vietnamese people, while protecting the environment and creating jobs in this industry. That is the message of the project “Ensure legal timber and promote the use of legal and sustainable timber in Vietnam”.
Let’s protect our forests for us and future generations. Together!
2. Exhibition of wood works
The architect, designer play an important role in supporting, orientating, and promoting the use of legal and sustainable timber to customers through their designs in constructions, architecture, and interior. There is a number of modern works have been applied legal and sustainable wood into designs, as well as products. To aim at introducing these architectural works, also interior that used legal plantation and recycled wood to public. Therefore, the Center for Education and Development (CED) organizes an exhibition of “The use of legal and sustainable wood in construction, architecture, and interior” in Hanoi, from October 1st, 2021 to November 15th, 2022.
The exhibition displays works from 5 different companies, consisting of:
- Teak House – 282 Design;
- TPG Village – KIENTRUC O COMPANY LIMITED & NT INDEC COMPANY;
- Salvaged Ring – A21 Studio;
- An Lâm Retreats – Trần Đức Homes;
- Interior designs – Laita Design.
In addition, the exhibition shows 3 outstanding projects of students from Hanoi Architectural University, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, and the Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering who participated in the competition “Using legal and sustainable wood in construction, architecture, and interior design”:
- Giang Vo Duong – Martial arts cultural center (Student: Nguyễn Hà Trung Hiếu – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering)
- Tran Nhan Tong historical museum (Student: Nguyễn Hải Đăng – Hanoi Architectural University);
- PAVILLION MUCE (Student: Phan Văn Khởi – Mien Trung University of Civil Engineering).
